Apparently it works for me if I connect to another topic. Trying to find another topic in a huge list which is not in alphabetical order is a study in frustration. That is so crazy. Putting things in alphabetical order is child's play for a computer programmer. What is happening here?

I sympathize, Ingrid! I was so frustrated, yesterday! I was taking pictures and uploading them directly to my post, when I saw the most beautiful male Oriole eating seeds from my hollyhocks. I took the photo, and it showed up on my “Felicia Post”. I immediately went to submit it, not wanting to lose that incredible picture. You guessed it. Everything I had written AND my once in a blue moon picture, gone forever! I was furious! Now, it seems I need to start a post, and add my pictures as a comment. I’m sure that’s not how things should go, but it’s the only thing that’s worked for me, so far. Sorry, I know how you feel. Lisa

Hey Ingrid. I actually like the new Houzz format and it’s working really well for me. Let me see if I can help a bit with a few things I noticed.

I think what you’re describing about the jumbled topics is that you are seeing a list of topics that are listed in order of recent posts. You only see that if you click on a certain thing... maybe “Garden Topics” or something like that?

I also noticed that if you go to the main menu, then “Advice” and “Gardenweb Discussions” you can see all the recent discussions on any topics you follow. I like that! For instance, I follow...

...Since that’s what I’m interested in. It’s nice to see posts all in one place from all the forums I’m interested in. It is marked next to the title to show the forum the post is from and the person who posted it. I like being able to quickly see what forum it is about and what type of post it is. I haven’t used the mobile app yet through, so I don’t know if that is different. I use my iPhone or iPad, but just get to it from the internet browser (safari) instead of using the mobile app.

This is what it looks like for me when I go to the page where all my interests show...

You can edit the topics you’re following, and that will personalize what shows up for you. So if you want to follow only Antique Roses, just check that one topic only. If you want to see posts from others, check those too.

I grow lots of different things together, so I like that I can post to Antique Roses, Roses and Organic Roses all at once if I want. It can bring people together that may otherwise have just stayed at one forum. Or I can post to California Gardening, Antique Roses and Roses, etc. Their comments can be seen at all, again bringing people together. Before, if I wanted to do that I would have to post separately in each topic and that wasn’t as community friendly, so I usually just didn’t. I picked one place and posted it there, so if people didn’t check there they would miss out. This way lots of different people can see or learn.

It is a changed format, but I like it. I have had no problem posting photos, searching, editing comments, etc. I can totally understand how that’s frustrating, I just haven’t experienced it. For me, when I load photos they show up with muted colors now until they’re fully loaded (they used to show up as a spinning green wheel). It seems to take about the same amount of time to load photos as before for me. It may be faster to load them in subsequent posts instead of the original post though. As long as I wait until they’re no longer muted color (meaning fully loaded), I haven’t had any problem posting them.

I hope this helps people! I enjoy all of your photos and comments so much!

Oh Lisa... I also should mention I take photos from my camera app itself instead of from inside the Houzz app. Or any other app. I learned that’s the only way to actually have a saved photo! Otherwise you can definitely loose it. Even if you’re texting someone from the iPhone, if you take the photo from the texting app instead of your camera it won’t save it to your photos. :-/

I learned that lesson a while ago the hard way, in a an experience similar to yours, but it was through a text to someone instead of in Houzz. :-/

I can't start a new question (the next button is caught in a loop), can't find my previous actions on my profile (it says empty, although I posted many questions). Not happy. :(
