Normally you paint the downspout to match the siding so it doesn't stand out and paint the gutters to match the fascia so it doesn't stand out. Gutters aren't a feature, they are a utilitarian necessity that need to blend to the background of the location to which they are attached.

There are exceptions, but those exceptions are rare and rarely done well.

What color is your new metal roof going to be? You have a lovely home. Getting the gutters and downspouts to blend into the background would be the preferred method so your other wonderful features aren't disrupted by the gutters/downspouts.

I would paint it the color of the surface behind it. So if it is running in front of white trim it should be painted the same color as the trim so it will blend in. IF it runs down in front of your taupe stucco I would paint that section the taupe color. I would not worry about the roof color.

Honestly, I think it is all personal preference.

When I had to make this decision recently, I read either match the roof color or the house color. Lots of people said to match the downspout to the house color. But I just installed bronze gutters and downspouts against white siding and I love the contrast. It helped break it up. Our shingles are a gray/brown and two accent metal roofs are bronze.
