The style of your house is absolutely a ranch. It's difficult to put an era to it, but based on the photos I would say any time between early 60s to mid 70s, is that close? If you're in that era, then search through photos on houzz looking for "Mid-Century Modern", you'll get a lot of photos back that might give you ideas. The ranch house is one of the most versatile house styles in the last 75 years and can be modern, cottages, bungalows and anything in between. I recommend the website www.retrorenovation.com (they also have a fantastic facebook page). Sometimes they have houses on their site where they've virtually upgraded some paint/doors, so that might help. Pick up a copy of Atomic Ranch magazine, it also has some good resources not only in the stories, but also in the advertising. Check with a local residential architect and ask if they would help you for a small fee. You'll need to pay them to come look at your house and give you some direction, but the money could be worth it. They could determine what you're looking for and point you in the right direction, as we, on the internet, don't really know your personal likes/dislikes and that will make a difference. Initially I see a couple of larger (i.e. pricier) items that might go a long way if you wanted to check into them. 1. Your garage door seems more appropriate to a 1990s "McMansion". Look for images of alternate garage doors, this is a prominent feature of your home and a snazzy door with personality will make a big difference. Also, and this is where the architect comes in handy, your two front windows don't seem to be proportionally correct for the front of the house. Opening those up could help your curb appeal but the space inside the house in that area matters too.

Are you sure that the photo is Light Mist? I looked at Hardie samples with our builder and Light Mist appeared much lighter than this...but of course it's always difficult to tell from outdoor pictures! I was trying to achieve something similar to Light Mist and chose SW Aloof Gray as the Light Mist seemed a little too blue for me. But Aloof Gray is a lighter than this photo. SW Light French Gray seems like a close match. Have you tried to plug this photo into the SW color analyzer? Good luck!

I agree with matching the pool tile; but not the darkest part -- some suggestions in Sherwin Williams paint (I stick with SW, again, because of the great samples you can try...) Cloudless, Regale Blue, Liquid Blue and Something Blue; The dark taupe door would still look good, but so would red! and then you could add a few pots of red begonias or salvia -- both pretty easy to care for and would make the color POP with all the green. I just love her back yard with the pool and plants - so many opportunities! Make sure to post photos of what you do :-)

I like too but my dad recently painted his house this color so it would be weird I was leaning more into the grays
