Limit the length of some discussions??

Honestly this might be me having a bad day, but do we really NEED over a thousand posts deciding which shade of off-white to paint a room, or where to hang a picture???

It's annoying and unnecessary.

There used to be a limit of, I think 150 comments on a post. For Building a Home especially this was too small a limit, and most especially for build threads that follow the entire project. So, people started doing "same post part 2" type things, but then people would find the first post and not be able to comment on it and...or comment in Part 2 without seeing the pertinent information in Part 1.

But yeah, for "which white", do they really go beyond 150 comments? Yikes.

Persons do continue to append their replies to these long threads.

I wonder "Why?"

I find it more curious than annoying or problematic.

Seems pretty obvious that I changed my mind about posting but hit Post instead of closing out the comment box. Thus my incomplete response. I am sure there are far more interesting things for you to comment on within this forum.

There are some very lengthy discussion threads here and there. What has happened sometimes in those threads is that they have evolved from the initial question and become a small community of their own, with people checking in with each other both about the project and subsequent projects, and their lives in general.
