Should our door handles & hinges be chrome or brushed? We got a door handle sample and hate the fingerprints on the chrome.

For context, in our new construction contemporary build the walls are white, floors are dark, window frames are black.

The plumbing fixtures are chrome. But the staircase and light fixtures in the living and kitchen are brushed (stainless & aluminum.) Plus appliances are stainless steel.

First thought was to match the chrome door hardware to the chrome plumbing fixtures. But the fingerprints look all smudgy.

The initial reason we went with chrome was for the “timeless effect.” Also, it felt like brushed fixtures from different manufactures would not match (in hue and in brush texture,) whereas, come always matches each other.

We still have time to adjust on the fly. Should our door handles & hinges be chrome or brushed?
