In my experience many places will say quartzite is granite. One place I went to called Fantasy Brown granite when it's not. It was only from this forum that I learned it was quartzite and when I went back and asked the fabricator, they admitted it was. So in other words, unfortunately you can't always believe what you've been told. I've been looking at granite a lot the last few months and I've never seen a granite look like what you've posted.

Agree that it doesn't look like granite (though it is beautiful).
