Some types of doors don't need knobs. How will they open? Is there a recessed finger area? There are some really sleek looking cabinets that have those push-open doors, I think.

I really like pulls, myself. I like choosing them to add the metallic color of choice. It like the way it dresses up a traditional or transitional kitchen, like jewelry on a solid color outfit. I like pulls because they make more of a statement, though knobs are very nice, too. I've seen just about every combo out there, in perusing Pinterest for inspiration.

Some practical aspects of knobs and pulls are that well-designed examples keep greasy fingers off the cabinet finish. I like knobs that don't force your knuckles to hit the cabinet when you grab the knob (like our old ball-shaped knobs did in our first house, with white cabinets-ugh).
