I would only be doing the window to the left where the plants are. When the sun goes down in the afternoon, it scorches the plants and is starting to ruin my table as well. Not to mention, gets extremely hot. I don't really get any direct sunlight through the other windows.

I thought about a neutral color but I think I'll have a lot of trouble matching the color to the outside of the house.

From the couch area, there's a pretty nice view out that window and you can't really see any of it with the white. I think the black will match, especially with the trim. But I'm worried it absorbs heat and will make it even hotter in here.

To be exact -- what about seeing through to long view when sitting at the table?

When you're looking at the white one head on from the end of the table, you can see through it as long as the sun isn't hitting it. As soon as the sun light hits it, it turns opaque. The black just looks like a tinted window. Much easier to see through when the sun is out.

FWIW - I have both black and beige interior solar shades installed in my home. I so much more prefer the black. I don't think we are talking about the same type of blind - but the black solar shades are no hotter than the beige.

Good to know sonni1 & Patricia. I think you sold me. Will probably go with the black then. I'm also worried about a white one getting dirty and discolored over time from being outside.
