Please help with kitchen remodel project, in desperate need of ideas

After so many years, we are finally ready to start kitchen remodel. Need help picking colors of cabinets, counter tops, back
splash and walls. We thought of painting cabinets white and island black, but since our cabinets are oak, painters were recommending to stick with stained cabinets in order not to run into grain issue on painted ones. So at this point we are somewhat lost and can no longer envision our kitchen. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.
