What color sofa goes with gray walls?

Painted the walls of my 1837 farmhouse living room gray, woodwork white, but don't want a super dark sofa. I have 2 labs, so white or really light is not an option. Any ideas? I was thinking taupe or beige.

You could go a taupe with a lot of gray undertones. Then a print with wall color plus sofa and a accent color I like peacock with grays. Area rug in grays plus some teal. Big. 8x10 with the farm house look go reclaimed wood for tables. Coffee round. Maybe a funky mason jar chandelier, instead of fan. Over fireplace a very large 45" old weather clock with roman numbers. In black.

Since you don't want a light colored sofa, (my first thought was white or cream) I'd suggest a dark gray or even navy for something different. I don't like black with yellow unless it's a bumblebee :), and brown with yellow is less of a modern color scheme. If you use dark gray or navy, adding white to the room in drapes or accessories will keep it fresh and crisp.

Drapes. Check out Restoration Hardware. Go for panels that will be long enough to cover the transom window and just touch the floor. Mount the rod midway between the top of the transom and the ceiling.

A Dusty purple. On the darker side. I just painted my daughters bedroom walls that color and got my inspiration from houz and Pinterest.

Great color and very current in terms of trends. Yellow or a golden beige would work beautifully.

I would go with beige because its way much safer to combine with any color and style.

Gray is a neutral so you can add some color or a different neutral color to your sofa and chairs. Remember you are most likely going to have wood furnishings in the room to warm it up.

I would go with a camel or cognac colored leather which will clean up easily. If you can do a pattern I would do a stripe or a paisley design for interest. Looks like your rug has some merlot or red colors in it. A reddish colored leather may also work well.

Above I meant a print in chairs. Like Anne d room above, the chairs are great. If dining is in same area keep same colors going there and paint. Chandlers. Should be similar. Reclaimed wood dining table with fabric chairs in a print.
