Agree with grover. The door is contemporary and the shutters are cottage. Go contemporary by removing the shutters and replace the wrought iron posts. Are those posts just decorative or are they structural too? I usually assume the posts are structural, but can't tell from here.

I wanted to do a wood post. Maybe just on the right side with our address numbers going down? Or should I add two posts in the center?

Oh wow Doug! Thanks for all the detail. Not gonna lie though, the reason we only have bushes is because I’m scared I’ll kill off other plants/flowers. Were on top of a hill and it seems like the sun is extra hot! Also when planting, its hard to dig up holes deep enough since theres rock underneath.
