Might this be a type of NON-edible basil hybrid??

I know that in addition to traditional green basil, there is purple basil. However, I seem to have something that appears to be a hybrid of the two, but which I suspect is not edible?

I had a traditional green basil plant in a pot, and then right next to it a new plant appeared. This new plant looks very similar to basil...same growth pattern...same thick 'main stem'...same leaf shape...same flower shape... However the leaves are a bit 'tougher' than a standard basil leaf, and when I nibble off a bit, it almost has more of a 'minty' flavor.

Any ideas about this?
