Help me name my Etsy store!

I posted about starting an Etsy store to sell my custom made silk sleep sacks for use in hostels. https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/5451493/anyone-sell-on-etsy#n=28

Now I need a name for my store! I don't want it to be specific to the sleep sacks, because I may think of something else that I can make and sell.

I'm really bad at coming up with things like this (hence my boring screen name), but I know that some of you are pretty clever wordsmiths.

The only thing that I've thought of is Wanderlust Designs, which my graphic designer daughter, who will make me a logo, pooh-poohed as being overused.

Here's a picture of the sleep sack

    Dandle Gad Boutique

    Or

    DandleGad Designs?

That name could cover a lot of possible items.

    Meanings and possibilities.

Dandle: Caress Cuddle (lux sleep sacks)

Gad: Roam About (other travel related items(?)

Be glad, buy Dandle Gad! Hehe

    I still like wanderlust though

Darn! There's about 250 Etsy shops with names that contain wanderlust. I guess that my daughter was right about it being overused.

Maybe I'll use my middle name - Cecile Designs.

Or my first and middle names.

You're right, that always helps. Plus, I don't need to have a name right now.

What about a name with "style" or "outfitter" in it? Gypsy style, vagabond outfitters, or something? I also like the idea of your initials and Design in the name. TC Designs for example. Just spitballing here :)

    Love your sleep sack!!

Keep something simple and searchable in the name so people will be able to find you easier. When thinking about synonyms, make the test whether you would remember the word 6 months or a year later as well ass how searchable it is. I think cute names are often easy to confuse or not get quite right and never find again. I've had that experience with Etsy and wind up having to search the item I want and then hope to find the same person if they were unique or just buy from anyone I find.

Having your name in it may help people know it's you. And at least one everyday word that connects to your purpose, theme, goods, store personality etc that will be easy to remember. Do you feel to exposed or too common with Terri? Cecile may cut both ways -- different and probably remembered, at least with a job or once you see it again, but it might not be a name folks would remember on its own. The term you put with it would be especially important.

I was also thinking about using those initials together -- TC. TC Travel Outfitter, TC Designs and Finds, TC Travel Bedding and Other Finds, Take it With You by TC, etc. Are you likely to keep to the travel/backpack theme? Do you want a broader theme? If not all travel, what would be the common theme -- bed and bath/home or travel? Natural fibers? Backpacking? Hand-dyed or painted? Get your concept down, then, then pick the name.

ETA -- I see Rubyclaire and I were thinking alike -- but she got to the point. Haha I have not slept well the last couple of nights and am not typing well, may be rambling and am a bit sluggish. Supposed to start painting a couple of rooms in DS's new home this afternoon. Gonna be a fun day.

Please post whatever you end up choosing and when you go live on Etsy. My daughter is backpacking Europe next May/June as her college graduation gift and I would like to buy her one for the hostels for Christmas.

Cleo, please send me a private message, and we can possibly arrange it before I get the Etsy store up and running.

If your line will primarily be for backpack travel, something with "packables" in it might be more focused. A lot of hits come up on Google for "packable/s".

    Dreamy Sacks or Dreamy Bedsacks

Just to point out that the first company to come up with a widely-marketed silk sleep sack calls theirs dreamsack. So I'd avoid using "dream" anywhere in the name, even though terriks's aren't quite the same.

I have no actual name suggestion, but I was listening to Guy Raz interview Sara Blakely about the beginnings of Spanx. She said the name came to her because she had read somewhere that brand names with strong K sounds were memorable (Kodak, Coca-Cola).

I don't know if you will like this but ...How about ROAM'Z

Its easy to remember and a bit catchy.

I put it on one of my unfinished paintings and think it tells a story. Of course you might want to go a lot more simple for many reasons. Really, I'm just trying to inspire.

Three different color ideas. This was done on my cell phone so use your imagination for lettering possibilities.

    So far my favorites are

Wanderlight, Seek and The Merry Drifter

My son came up with a good one too - Camino & Casa, which I like because people searching for "Camino" will find it, and adding "Casa" makes it more general purpose.

I like Wanderlight. I'm traveling to Europe this fall and have been doing a lot of reading on traveling light/carryon only for 10 days. Travel Fashion Girl has recommended silk sleep sacks quite a few times. Their Facebook page might be another good place to do some market research. Good luck!

You are going to do well! Can't wait to see your E store. I hope some of us get a message when you are up and running. I'll share with my son and his friends. I've learned through them that there is a huge network of people traveling the world on the cheap by doing a combo of hostels, couchsurfing, Workaway and more.

Hopefully I don't get tired of sewing them! But that's the good thing about the Etsy store (I think) I can just make them, and list them as I go.

LOL I originally thought the Camino refered to the car. It might be funny to make a sleeper with the El Camino car print. I even found someone who makes the fabric.

    https://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/3014715-el-camino-royal-black-white-by-flames_artworks?iref=clk-xs-fab-collection

I might just call it something simple, like the Camino sleeper. People would probably refer to it as a sleeper.

terricks, My daughter is a travel blogger and sometimes does product reviews on their website and IG etc. Your sleep sack looks perfect for their upcoming van trip. You can contact her at Don'tforgettomove.com to see if she is interested. She and her partner have a pretty big following and have worked with Intel, Kettle Brand, Chevy, Michelin (the Michelin man is so much shorter than I thought!) many other big companies, filmed a pilot for the Travel Channel, up for a big award in Sri Lanka in October. So, pretty big. Mention my name and she might do it for free (but you would need to send her one) she might even take a pic that you can use on your etsy site with an endorsement. Good luck with your store!
