Vinyl siding, do we add brick or stone or stucco.

Hi, we are not too sure how to finish off the front of our house. Bought it last year just finished extensive interior renovations, and would like to finish with new siding this fall. We have decided on kaycan cabot blue vinyl siding. Not sure what we should do around the basement and if we should add stone or go stucco? Any tips would be appreciated. Plan Is to put a large deck of the side of the hoise in the next couple of years as well.

Not sure if you included pics and they didn’t post? Will need some exterior shots

Also include a picture of the blue siding that you’ve already chosen

That’s MUCH too blue for that short walled little ranch house. Pick a color found in nature. A soft green maybe. No stone, unless you want to dtonevthe whole house. It would split the wall in half and make it look even squattier. Wide window trim. No shutters.

Look into stack stone, you can buy either panels of squares or staggered sections. Lots of beautiful selections to choose from and it looks great with vinyl siding. Good luck on your project!

Please no stacked stone it is already a dated look and does not belong on that house . A soft grayed green siding , wider white trim and no other material is what belongs on that home

I'm doing a new build and I'm using this type of stone on the outside of my house. They sell it at home depot ordered me different color samples to look at. We are in the process of putting up our siding now so I don't have pics of how it looks on my house. I have a pic of a sample in store though. The sample they had was really beat up and not a color I wanted, hence they ordered other colors but it at least gives you an idea. https://m-rockstone.com/msi-p-series-mortarless-stone-panels/amp/

Thanks, yeah we moved the garage door and stole 12' out of garage for an entrance way and laundry, havent had time to do drive way yet. Garage door needs replaced in next year or two. We had thought the blue siding would have been nice. There is also a green house beside our empty lot

Also would we do siding straight down to the ground where the cinder blocks are for basement?

I'm guessing you'll paint the foundation all around your house, say, gray or the same color as your siding. Paint would be less expensive than the rock facing which will be covered by future (I hope) planting anyway

Maybe you can do the blue you like with gray. Do the blue shake in all of the gables and also in the indented portion of the front. Like they did with this house.

Here is another two tone siding.

Even though both of these examples have a foundation course of stone, I agree your's should not.

Taking the siding to the ground might not be the best idea, My husband put a coating on ours (think it was called Fibercrete) that made it look more like poured concrete that block. Then we just left it the concrete color.

If your ambitious and in a cold climate, it is possible to add rigid foam insulation the the exterior of the block...

Absolutely no siding to the ground if you live in termite country.

Light gray (like hossaon suggested) with river rock along the very bottom.

    KISS. Always.

Ok thanks very much for the help so far, we've agreed to step away from the blue... Now we have one more idea to throw past you's... What if we did rock on the garage to about where that roof line ends, and then continued on the rest of the house in a medium/light grey vinyl shake? Our front door is a chocolate brown, and we would paint the garage door a grey similar to siding?

No tacky rocks. No gray. Especially no brown door.

A blue that is not so in your face would be fine. Pair with white trim and a yellow or apple green door.

Well, heck. I'm getting ready to do rocks and cabot blue. It's a nice color, not as bright as the pic above. What did you end up doing? My house is just like yours...ranch, garage, sidewalk instead of driveway in the wrong place.
