Seriously in need of your help with furniture arrangement

Please I need help with the placement of sofa and TV in our open concept kitchen/family room. I purchased a new sofa for the room as I thought my husband and I would use the room to watch movies. However, we have a "flex" room close by and that is where we watch most of our TV. My problem is that it doesn't feel right to me with the sofa sitting in the middle of the room. Whenever we have company I am always standing in the kitchen and they have their backs to me. Plus when you come in the front door the first thing you see down the wide hallway is the side of the sofa. I am think about removing the TV from the room completely. My husband is not on board yet as room is wired for surround sound ($ wasted). It would be nice to have TV in room, but.... I have been moving furniture for days. I kinda like the sofa on the longest wall (see TV in the photos). I could place the TV on the side wall and pull it out when we want to watch it. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do? Please note that I am moving furniture around and have removed the rug/most lamps/end tables, etc and I really need help on where to place the sofa in room with relation to the TV.

Hi you could move the smaller sofa to the tv wall (if you are not using the tv) or relocate the tv to the wall where the stool is. that way you have an :L shape seating arrangement and your guests do not have their back to you when in the kitchen. Looks a super space! Good luck

Well, you're right in that furniture placement in a living room/family room is based on where the TV is going to go. So you need to make a decision if that TV is going to stay in that space or not. If it's going to stay, then the only place it can go is on the wall it's currently on. So what I would do is focus on the seating arrangement of that particular room, not in how the seating arrangement in that room fits with the kitchen. So I would put the longer couch facing the TV, the love seat on one side to make an L shape, and then add two chairs on the other side to finish out the U configuration. If you don't want to do that, then you could have the couch and love seat face each other, and get two swivel captains chairs to back up to the kitchen so people can "swivel" into both rooms.

There is another wall for the TV, the short one opposite the window and next to the hallway. If you put the TV on that wall off center close to the hall then your new sofa could face in that direction. The sofa would end up where the previous sofa was and you could put either two comfy chairs where the sofa was or on either side of the sofa to see TV.
