Area rug suggestions for camel leather and brown leather mix

I'm re-decorating a living room and need help with the area rug selection. My existing one doesn't work. Seem it's more difficult than I anticipated to find a rug that combines the colors of the 2 leathers while still not being too dark. Also, don't want to speak too much. Any suggestions? I've attached one rug I thought might work well. Also have a photo of the stairs that are nearby that have a rug runner that might compete.

Also, the red wall will be painted soon.

You have a lot of dark pieces in addition to the dark brown chairs. Why not try a camel rug similar to what you are using now? A solid will work better if you can't replace the stair runner. Have you considered using your dark round tables between the east and west pairs of chairs so you can eliminate the lightweight coffee table? The table is a real misfit. Those round tables might need to be cut down so they arrive 1" above or below the chair arms, but they would look good.

I think your stairs are far enough away from your living room and won't compete with your choice.

I don't particularly like the very modern look that you are asking about, but if you like it it certainly can work.

I agree with Deco. Try to find something similar to what you have but with camel in it.

Is the red wall going to be painted the same color as the surrounding ones? I can't quite tell if it's a taupe or gray color.

Red wall will be painted same color as other walls most likely. This room is just a mixed hot mess! Agree about the tables. I think coffee table needs to go but not sure what I should get instead.

Just an opinion but you have so many colors in the room unrelated to each other. And all your pieces seem to be the same size. Are the chairs new? Some thoughts I gad: remove the mirror or place it on the wall opposite the windows for 2 reasons 1 it doesn't reflect anything worth seeing twice and it's too large over the bar. Paint all the walls 1 color. NO gray. Use the camel chairs as a starting and find a color to complement them. I also think the rug needs to be large, have all 4 chairs sit on it.

I agree...lots of colors. The are pieces from other rooms in previous home. I don't care for the red wall. Walls were this color when we moved in. I can certainly paint the walls a different color altogether but I have the consider the rest of the house. My intended them was for a conversation/drinking room with chairs rather than couches. We hardly ever use this room but is at the home entrance. Trying to work with what I have and buy additional pieces to compliment. Do you think I can make it work with dark brown and camel leather chairs or should I start over? I was thinking a better rug would pull it all together. ??

I moved around the furniture a bit. I also put back 1 additional brown leather chair I had. Not balanced and seems like I need height but gives a different perspective. Rug is just way to gray for this room!

I like the 4 chairs in a circle best. Remove the mirror

The gray isn't bad, with the pillows. You were onto something -- I think you need some contrast here, rather than to knit everything into a uniform mush of browns. Maybe a color instead? Let me try some Photoshop...

Yes, contrasting rug, plus *art* (Cezanne loaned me this one) to pull it all together.
