kitchen help please

Looking for help to freshen up and tie in the kitchen. Love the changes we have made so far- light fixtures, grey paint and accent wall, etc. However it’s clear I’m missing something cause it feels like it really lacks cohesion.

Room is L shape, looking to move in a few years so nothing major but would love to like my kitchen!

Please help me out with photos -and input!!!

The living room is very “cool” with the blue walls, nickel fixture and the white chairs. The kitchen is very warm and dark with the browns, dark tile backsplash and wood. This is why you have no cohesion. You need to either paint the cabinets white, lighten up the walls, replace the brown backsplash. You have fresh and clean on one side and dull and brown on the other. You have to pull over the cool into the kitchen.

I rarely suggest this but i think painting the cabinets is the way to go here.

Change the backsplash to white with very light grout. It will brighten things up. If possible change countertops to light off white too. Change semi flush light to one that gives off more light. Consider painting peninsula outer and side lower cabinet the color of your accent wall in dining room. If you have a pantry door paint it accent color too.

I think I commented on this kitchen already and suggested going with light quartz as a countertop and backsplash. By looking at the whole place, it seems quartz is a great idea, especially if you paint your upper cabinets in white and lower in the color of the living room accent wall. These cabinets as they currently look are totally different style than the rest of the place.
