This color is Electric Blue and if you are over 21 this is Poor Choice for bedroom walls. If you use black and white with it it will look even brighter. Nowadays even cars are not painted that color - motorcyclecs sometimes, yes. But you can use that color in a linen bedspread with white walls and that would look great.

The wooden floor is SO red!!!! If you want have the wall green and the table with bench that have a light wood ton, I will replace the wooden floor to take of the dark red ton and replace it with a more modern look and lighter finish...and keep away from the red ton. The other option is to paint the walls a nice tan color, not too light so you will have some contrast with the white kitchen cabinets. You can have a lighter tan elsewhere and maybe an accent wall in the LR. The table with the bench and light will be perfect in the kitchen on the dark floor and now flooring will kind of ton down the space by a more neutral color if you use a tan. There is other way to bring colors: accent walls, upholstery furniture, accent pillows, area rugs and window treatment. See my first pic showing a nice selected beige and one wall accent to add the blue in this specific interior. 2nd pic is a good idea for you if you want change your red floor.

I keep coming back to this, and I like it more each time. It's quite soothing. It's empty now, so it will look different when you are all moved in. Agree about the window treatment/fabric idea. There is a company called Tonic Living---they sell fabrics and make custom window treatments, cushions, etc. http://www.tonicliving.com/Default.aspx I just ordered these curtains in a color called theo quartz. That might now exactly work for this color...just an idea I had when I saw your kitchen....They have been a great company to work with (if a bit pricey), and they will give you 10% off your order.

Lynette, you still haven't posted pics of what you are asking about. If you want light, then work with White Oak. And to be clear, Red Oak is CHEAPER than White Oak. White Oak is more sought after because of the colour/trends that are going right now. Orange/red are "out" and blonde/gray are "in". The blonde/gray are the sweet spots for White Oak in a water based finish. If you are looking at "oak" and one is cheaper than the other...it is probably red oak. When finished, red oak is a cinnamon/orange/salmon colour. White oak can be blonde through to gold...and technically a lighter floor.
