Ideas on adding a gable over our front doors and window above them

We would like to take out the front deck and replace with concrete and add a tall gable covering the front doors and window above them. Any design ideas on the gable or concrete? Should the gable cover just the width of the front doors or the entire area of the gap in the center of the roof?

No. Concentrate on the front door which looks wrong for the home, along with the ACCESS to the front door.

Looks a bit craftsman met mountain, met contemporary met mid cen something or other ?

I agree a gable will look all wrong for this style of house and so are the doors and that arched trim is also wrong over the door. Google modern house entryies and see what might work I honestly have no idea wahy you would want to cover a window at all. I could see a cedar 2 step deck at the front with a flat extension maybe over the door and attached to the jut out on the right . IMO a new paint color and trim would make a huge difference along with the new doors.

Would this type of gable fit the house style? I would like the gable to be above the window that is above the front doors. I really like the look of a tall entry way. The front doors are going to be replaced with all glass doors. I would prefer a concrete entry instead of the wood that is pictured. What house color would you recommend to update?

I just think you need to have someone cad a picture for you of how it would look. The house IMO will not suit that high entry and I think the wood softens the whole thing

You want a portico, not a gable.

I think your current entry design is terrific & would hate to muck it up with an alteration. But perhaps something like this could be made to blend in with your house style, tucking the portico under the three windows:

A portico may be your best option. If that is something you're interested in seeing, along with other types of additions I would be able to show you those.
