We are currently under construction for our new home & recently purchased this vanity for our master bathroom. I love it! However, I’m stuck on where to go design-wise from here. We plan to have a tile floor & full tile walk in shower. I was thinking about using white tile for both but that seems like it will be a little sterile. I can’t figure out where to add a few more additional pops of color to make it feel cohesive.

Also, the stock hardware is brushed nickel but I considered replacing with a gold/brass tone possibly?

I would love some advice! Thanks :)

Originally, we were going to do a shower somewhat similar to this but with a different tile in the focal area.

If decorating is not your thing, which I'm assuming it's not if you're here and asking these questions, then you're going to have a very difficult time putting together a cohesive design around such a random colored item. My advice would be to stop what you're doing, and find someone with some decorating sense to help you. As you are realizing, there are not a lot of appropriate bathroom colors that are going to match with teal beyond white and gray. The minute I say that, all kinds of people are going to come on here and start listing a million colors that match with teal, and they will completely gloss over the fact that I said "bathroom appropriate colors". Yellow looks great with teal, but not for a bathroom. Orange looks great with teal, but not for a bathroom. So the last thing you want to do is start adding "additional pops of color", a master bathroom is not the place for that. So if this is what you're committed to doing, then I would pick out a patterned tile floor in white with gray accents. I would do a white subway tile shower. I would do brass hardware. And I would work in some other mid tone gray accents. That's it on color. I would let that vanity represent the color in the space otherwise it's going to go from sophisticated to juvenile very, very quickly.

Thank you for your input cpaul1. When I used the term “additional pops of color” I really meant how I could find a way to tie the teal into the room vs making it feel like I just plopped a teal vanity down in the midst of a white & grey bathroom. I am happy with it being the single focal point in the room as long as it flows. I bought the same vanity in white as well just incase the teal was a total flop.

All white or simulated marble tile for bathroom with teal accents like towels and art.

I would not bring teal into the tile.

What is overall style of your home? Make sure you have a layered lighting plan so you have plenty of good lighting. Depending on your styling preference i would consider a patterned floor tile in white, gray and black. The keep everything else white. Add great white towels and a few teal accessories such as soap dish or small tray for perfume bottles. I will look for some inspiration photos for you. Bbl

I can post a grip of combos that work w/that vanity. plenty of other options besides white and gray,,,,or orange.

these are just a few elements. I could post at least 50 more

    cement tiles

    glazed earthenware/zellige (CleTile)

in any of these vignettes, you could substitute your color vanity and it would work

Have you seen this vanity in person? I wouldn't call it teal--it looks gray with a very subtle blue-green undertone, so it could act as a neutral instead of a pop of color. Your lighting may also affect the color. I wouldn't plan tile around a teal color scheme, but a light gray and white scheme should work with the vanity whether it's gray or blue-green.

I also don’t see a lot of hue when I look at this. It is a very grayed teal and I think it would work with white or gray tile. I think it would look great with a marble. I would not bring in colored tile with it, because that’s the best way to date your bathroom and it’s costly to remove if you tire of it. If you want to add more color to a white bathroom, wall paint makes more sense. I never worry about kitchens and bathrooms looking too sterile, because I want them to be sterile.

I agree it would be easy to match this with a marble-look tile all over the bathroom, or to find a small amount of colored tile to match and put in, say, the niche in the shower for a gentle echo. Probably there are other ways to bring in the color, though, like art, towels and rugs, etc.

Because you have color in your vanity j would keep your tile and paint colors for the bathroom neutral. I think marbles in grays and whites would look stunning. a beveled white tile in shower would be nice. It need not be a subway size. I would go larger and do a combination. The vanity has a bit of glamour to it. I would change out the hardware. Gold would be lovely and you could do polished nickel for faucets and shower hardware . tie in the gold hardware on the vanity by using a light fixture in gold tone. I like some of these tiles because they repeat the X pattern by using a diamond shape.

If you will have a chandelier something like this would be stunning to tie the gold in but keep the white theme going

If you’re doing sconces on either side of vanity mirrors I’d use gold there .
