Need proper ventilation,storage, updating 1950s tile that's painted!

With 3 girls in the house, baby on the way and this is the only full bath in the house we could use some help with figuring out storage solutions! Where do we put 5, soon to be 6 towels? :) We live in a 1924 house, so no closet space. Ventilation is awful....we have mold problems in the entire bathroom & tub has chips in it. My husband has changed our ceiling fan twice (each time with more CFS) hoping that it would help, but hasn't. Tiles were painted by previous owner and now paint is chipping off revealing the green tile that was typical in the 50s....got to love that! I love our house and it's character, but our small full bathroom could use some help. Thanks!

Oh boy! I love vintage bathrooms, but I hear you on how inconvenient they are for bigger families. If you could do anything you wanted to this one, what would you do?

Lets start with is the vent actually attached and venting to the outside? Ive seen plenty that vent into a attic space and dont really do much venting. Of the ones Ive used Panasonic has their Whisper Quiet that works great. Put it in the ceiling above the tub if possible.
I think you need to find some space in the house to add another bath/shower. Hiring a designer with good space planning skills can help reconfigure and reimagine your home with a better floor plan that could allow you another bath... space planning wasnt the greatest in 1924 :-)

I'd do my very best to keep the tub but have it cleaned, and then cleaned some more! I'd want to try and keep it because it's original and on the bigger side. A good size for bathing all the kiddos in! Install a new vent that actually takes the moisture out of the air and I'd probably go for new tile in lieu of re-painting the existing tile. Possibly install some sound proof insulation in the one wall that is adjacent to the baby room. Last but certainly not least....figure out storage! Storage! STORAGE! Where do we put 5 (soon to be 6) towels? Maybe put recessed storage between the studs? That's all! :-)
