I don't think the lightbulbs over the granite are helping any. See about replacing them with LEDs that don't cast more yellow light. I am painting my kitchen greige right now and it might work for you.

Yes the lighting is very important warmer lights makes your room more yellow. If you really have to color your kitchen I think the best colors is Sherwin Williams Alabaster it is off-white but it has a very light gray to modernize you kitchen also matches with gold and warm colors. I strongly recommend to color your door, I think black will give you contrast, on the other hand white (wall colour) makes it brighter.

Lighting is very important. Make sure the leds are the cool white (daylight type). Your lighting is what is making the counters look orange. Under Beths post above there is the color woodlawn blue. I think that color would work well in your kitchen, and since you like blue, you may want to get a sample and try it.

it looks good. As Beth said if you change your cabinet hardware it will make a huge difference, I like to have handles for floor cabinets and knobs for wall cabinets.
