Return the unopened paint, pick another color (after putting up some good-sized sample swatches on the walls), and paint it again?

edit: wait did you buy one 5 gallon can or five 1 gallon cans? If the former, talk to the paint store and see what their return policy is for opened paint. You might just have to cut your losses and try to sell the remainder of the paint on Craigslist or NextDoor.

Unfortunately I used the 5 gallon to paint the front of the house and have more then half of the paint left for the rest of the house.

Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. I picked what was supposed to be a tan paint for most of my common areas that turned light pink on me too.

I lived with it for a year, trying to convince myself it was fine.

I hated it.

I've just started repainting and the one room which is done looks a million times better.

I think you can take the remaining opened paint back to the paint shop...they might be able to add some color to help neutralize the pink tint.

If they can, most likely you will be the only person that can differentiate between the front of the house and the back...

That would be the first thing I would do before buying new or getting rid of what you have...

I have taken paint back and asked Sherwin Williams to add color...but there is a limit to how much they can add until the paint's quality is compromised.

I would use what you have to paint some large samples on posterboard or directly on the walls of other rooms where you intended to use it. It's possible it will look entirely different and not pink at all. Then you can just buy a different color and redo the kitchen.

I would also get an Accessible Beige paint chip from the store and add a dab of paint from your can right on it, let it dry...see if perhaps they mis-mixed it.
