Small kitchens can be beautiful too! If I was in the planning stages with a client for a small kitchen renovation, one of the first questions might be "Tell me what works well in your layout right now? and is it just a cosmetic change you are looking for?". I have attached a photo of a medium sized kitchen with a small island. We painted the existing cabinets, we replaced the countertops with quartz, removed a section of upper cabinets and installed floating shelves. It transformed the kitchen into a stylish modern open space for our client. Cabinet color, wall color, cabinet hardware and back splash tile can all be changed easily. If there is a section of cabinets that you can rework some glass doors with lighting into, even better. Or add a splash of color, like "Big Blue" in your idea book for a unique feature. I have also attached a small bar area that we finished recently that has a bright cabinet finish. Start small, figure out your budget and work your plan. It is achievable in any space small or large.
