You just need a longer stainless shroud (cover) that goes up to the ceiling, that’s all. Your hood manufacturer may make one, but if they don’t then you can have one custom fabricated quite easily.

Yes, I am talking about the crown moulding between the wall and ceiling. There will be crown on the cabinetry, it just hasn't been installed yet. Waiting for a cabinet to be replaced. The picture I took is not showing the complete shroud. It hasn't been fully extended and put in place yet because we are keeping it in its protective covering to prevent damage. But when we pulled it up to see how it fit, it was not flush with the ceiling because the ceiling (or wall, not sure) is not level in that spot. We hired someone to install our wall mount range hood. There are hooks on the inside of the stainless steel shroud to hook onto wall hooks. You need some space to turn the shroud at an angle to go over the hooks and this leaves about a half inch or so of a gap between the top of the shroud and the ceiling. I can't find small, three-sided trim to compensate for this gap, is the handyperson doing something wrong? Is this brand, Acona, the only one that has this hook on problem?

If the gap is a .50 inch or less: have this same issue. i am going to use this self sticking pvc stainless steel color finished trim to mitigate the gap. here is the Home Depot link, but I also found the exact same product on Amazon for the same price. pack of 3 - 24” pieces for $19.99:
