Rule of thumb for kitchen island pendant light sizing and finish?

Hello!

I am looking for advice on what pendant lights to get for my new kitchen island and also the finish. My kitchen ceiling is 10' and the island is 3.7' x 8.3', wired for 2 lights.

This drum pendant comes in 3 sizes - 20", 26" and 30".

This pendant is 16"

I really like the drum pendant but I'm afraid that even the 20" one will be too large and that 2 of them will look odd.

Both lights come in Antique Nickel and Brushed Bronze. I'm leaning towards the Antique Nickel.

Any advice as to size and finish will be greatly appreciated!!

First you must consider height as well as width, you dont have cathedral ceilings, that fixture looks about 24 inches long, which means with out any chain it would hang at an 8 foot level. Second, fabric shades and kitchen sinks don't mix, trust me when I say water splashes in all directions! plus steam from hot water can all mark the shades.

your kitchen is small so I would not close it in with solid state drum shades. I would do 2 larger scale glass pendents.

Use the drum shade in the breakfast nook.

RL Location LLC, thank you so much! That is exactly the type of advice that I needed - especially about the fabric shade in the kitchen being a pain. I hadn't even thought of that!

Mercury glass is great because it takes on two lives, silver when off and glowing when on. I do love me a good mercury pendant lol

OH you dont have to tell me lol, I love justice design group they make amazing products. If you like the barrel shape try cutting it out of a piece of cardboard and hanging it from a string for a good size reference. You could stand to maybe go a bit larger. its hard to scale here.
