How can I️ make this room feel like the TV isn’t so far away?

I’ve considered moving the couch forward and putting a bookcase behind it or something but I️ feel that will just make the room smaller. The brown chair also feels like it can’t really be used to watch tv without blocking the couch. I️ also thought about adding a big tall plant in the corner by the closet door to fill that space but I’m not sure what to do. Any ideas?

Try putting they’ve were your sofa is now and floating your sofa and chair towards that corner. The orientation of this room is difficult but I think it’s large enough to do that.

I don’t have a floor measure but hopefully you get the idea. The tv should not be viewed from the other side of a walk through! Keep that area open, float your furniture oriented to the other wall.

Awful. Set up incorrectly. Draw the ENTIRE space to scale neatly, 1/4 inch to a foot. Put dimensions on all of it, include accurate door and windows, openings......and dimensions. Upload it.

Yes that is the only way to get help.

    Bigger tv

For a more intimate tv viewing experience, put the tv against the sofa wall and place the couch so that when you walk out of the dining area, you are passing BEHIND the sofa. Put a bookcase in the spot where the tv is now. You will probably also want to rotate the area rug, unless that will block that door from opening.

I think it only works with the Home Design 3D app but I uploaded the file: https://www.icloud.com/iclouddrive/06EsRW5S_2pJHwXrWsW6q09cw#Sean

Isaiah! That’s exactly what we were talking about and kudos to you for figuring out the phone app! Yes your space is a bit challenging with the doors and windows but nothing is impossible! Does this setup work better for you?

This does leave your walk ways free. The 3’ sq. I area I take is your entrance? The other door a bedroom?
3sq is a closet. The other door is the apartment entrance and then there’s a door to the bedrooms on the chair side of the dining room area and a opening into the kitchen on the bench side of the dining room.

I’ll probably try it out and see but my main concern with the new layout option is that it’ll make the room feel smaller.

If your measurements are correct ( room and furnishings) then this looks quite nice and cozy! Certainly much better than what you had! You can add a narrow console we’re the tv used to be ; add a lamp, art some other accessories. It would be a nice place to drop your keys etc. when coming home.

And this you can actually see the tv ; without anyone walking in front of it to get to the front door!

That layout looks good! Be sure to add lamps!

This is my problem now, it would be interesting to see how it turned out for you now Isaiah! :)
