Morning Rooms

Do you need a morning room? Traditionally, a morning room is connected to the kitchen and set-up with a table and chairs for a light meal. Would you use it for this purpose or something else?

While morning rooms are nice to have we don't seem them as completely necessary in today's home lifestyle. With the must have kitchen island generally with enough seating for the children in the family most homeowners tend to spend this budget on making the island a focal point which includes the necessary square footage to accomplish it. We all continue to see the open concept on the rise where the dining table sits right off the kitchen island which serves as both a morning room dining scenario and dining room.

I love having a breakfast room or breakfast table in or next to the kitchen. (I prefer a table and chairs to a counter and stools because a chair is much more comfortable seating.) We use it for all family meals, playing games or cards, having dessert or a snack with friends or family, or doing small art projects.
We rarely use the dining room.
