Root Rot of Unhealthy Roots?

Hello you guys,

Last week, I purchased three small succulent plants, two medium-sized aloe vera, and a small ruby ball cactus from CVS for super cheap. I thought I'd gotten a bargain. Buuuut upon repotting them, I discovered that some of them had extremely thin and brittle roots and I'm scared it might be root rot.

Since I've already repotted and watered the plants, I'll just describe what I saw to you guys (these are some of the first plants I've ever owned, so it didn't occur to me until later that this might be root rot). However, if you guys need me to post pictures, I can do that as well. The roots were thin, brittle, almost blending into the soil, but did not smell at all. A few days ago, the tips of some of them started to turn brown and crispy. From what I've seen online, my plants don't look nearly as bad as others that have been saved from root rot.

What's the best method for saving succulents with root rot? I've scoured the internet, but I can't seem to find a universal accepted method for taking care of the problem. I'm mostly concerned because I watered the plants when repotting so the roots are currently wet.

Help meeeeee :(

Thanks in advance!
