I might pass on the mirror idea, even though it will reflect the fireplace, just thinking it isn’t enough of a companion to the stone fireplace.

Looks like you could use more light so I'd def put a lamp there and maybe a tray for mail etc.. You didn't ask but I would consider a restyle of the fireplace, maybe paint the screen black and get some art instead of the vase.
