Do you have no brick on the front? If you do, I'd keep the brick.

There's only a tiny bit of brick left on the front of the house. You can't see it from the street, but you can see it from the entryway and it doesn't look great with the metal siding.

It can be hard to decide because brick done right is a nice feature, but having a consistent finish will look better in the end. Please post pics when you've finished it! :)

In the picture showing the new siding against the pale brick it does not look bad. Do you dislike the color so much that you must change it?

One option you did not mention is a slurry applied to the brick. It can have dye added to it, the same as stucco. It would let you still have the look of brick, if that is something you like.

I would need to see the front of the house , right now the bad thing I see is that really awful deck and the white windows since it looks like you did black ones on the front. I really hesitate to mess with brick. IMO if you add the black windows , fix the deck and then see if you like it better. The deck can have black steel and glass railing , black posts to help tie the black siding into the mix Some black steel planters along the concrete walls

Thanks @emmarene9 for the suggestion of a slurry applied to the brick. I have not heard of that but will look into it.

We don't hate the brick - don't love it either. You all are right that we could just live with it and in the end we might. We are just considering the options and cost/benefit ratios.

Does anyone have any experience with brick stain, good or bad?
