Bedroom Advice for king bedding and curtains/drapes/shades

I would love some help with a low cost way to update our bedroom with bedding and drapes/curtains/shades. Thank you! Any ideas to make the room look nicer would be great!

I hope there is not a rule about links to sales sites. It's always a good idea to check the clearance page of Company Store and Pottery Barn. Here's one for $70 that will look nice in that room, I think. https://www.potterybarn.com/products/remy-paisley-print-reversible-duvet-cover-sham/?pkey=cbedding-sale-view-all&isx=0.0.3495

Before choosing other elements for your space such as bedding and draperies I think you need to work on eliminating some items. It looks tight and off balance. Is the chair fuchsia? Is it staying? The night tables are to low for the bed. They need to come up to top of mattress. I would eliminate the TV stand and place the dresser on the wall opposite the bed and place your TV on top of it. That will open up the space greatly and allow room for larger chest style bedside tables. If the chair stays it then can be angled in the corner where your TV stand is currently, although it looks entirely too large for the space and if fuchsia perhaps not the best color choice to go with the other elements. Ince this is done I would do a simple white drapery panel on the windows mounted as high as possible. I would keep the shades for texture. I like them with the wall color. Try to find a linen or faux linen , lined for the drapery panels in a crisp white. For bedding I think you can change out the quilt on the foot of the bed and the pillows and be good. White duvets are classic and easy to work off of so bring in a quilt that has your wall colors in it and some natural elements. Do three euro across back in same tones and scale down from there pillow wise. A group of three square mirrors or pieces of art above the bed and you can lean a large floor mirror where your dresser is currently or do a large piece of art there.

I like those white drapes. What is the right length to order so it's high above the molding on the windows? I also really like the duvet from Pottery Barn that you suggested. We like having a chair in the room. That burgundy chair is from our old couch set that we put in our bedroom. Can you suggest another type of chair that would look nice in that spot?

For your draperies you will need to measure the height from bottom of your crown moulding to the floor. Get panels that are as close to that measurement as possible.

For a chair I think you need to go with a much smaller scale and it needs to be relocated to where the TV currently sits. There isnt enough room where your current chair sits to house one. As far as color I would pick up the linen color of your head board then accent it with a couple pillows to pick up on your bedding. For example if you should choose the bedding I showed.......

using a throw at the foot of the bed or on the chair would also add some layers.

Thank you! I love the Addy wing chair and it’s reasonably priced. Ok, I will

measure for the curtains. I do need to replace the shades because they are breaking. What do you recommend as a replacement with the curtains?

Tamara I really like the woven shades. I think they add a lot of texture to the space. If they aren't operable anymore I would look into replacing them with some decent quality woven shades. Perhaps lined ones to give you more light control for sleep. Something that can be pulled up tightly and neatly behind the drapes.

I think you have a really pretty room to start with, and like the suggestions. Since you mention budget is an issue, for white linen-look drapes, you might look at Ikea's website. They have a lot of white options there, and I bought white linen-look panels there. They were unbelievably cheap, and very nice for the money. I think mine are called Ritva, starting at $17.00/panel.

We would look into getting rid of the fuchsia chair as it doesn't seem to go with anything in the room. Otherwise it looks like you can do a lot. Here are some ideas from some of our designs. Note the bedding, window treatments, and benches. Also perhaps try some artwork in your bedroom.
