Has anyone made yogurt in their Instant pot?

I finally made some a few days ago. The cold start method. Only 3 ingredients. It is fantastic! I am not the biggest fan of yogurt but I will eat it on occasion. I just love to try making new things so I made some and I tell you it is the best I have had. I really have no idea on the calories (kinda afraid to look it up). It made about 10 1/2 cup containers, which is a lot for me. but I think it's worth it. I added some of my homemade strawberry pineapple jam to it and its great! Give it a try if you enjoy yogurt. Probably not for you EF. Cold Start Yogurt

Go ahead and get it, you won't be sorry if you like yogurt. You can flavor the yogurt with almost anything. I was reading where they use sugar-free jello to flavor it. You do this after its all done, the amount you want. I used the jam or sliced canned peaches or pineapple any fruit. It was my first time making yogurt it was so easy.

I made some vegetable soup in it a few nights ago, it only took 25 min in the pot.

I also love my Air fryer, great for fries.

I haven't tried yogurt yet, but am planning to try it in a few weeks. then down the road, cottage cheese and a cheesecake. don't have the right pan for the cheesecake yet. Besides I have other things I want to try in it first. like the potatoes for potato salad. I haven't made that for decades. I've made 2 roasts, meatloaf, dressing (at Christmas), mashed potatoes, steamed carrots, eggs, rice, chicken, barley soup, spaghetti soup, macaroni and refried beans. I think that's it so far. but that's a lot for me!

Rusty - you'd love an IP. I have the 3 qt duo plus, bought it last TG day for 56.00 and I love it. Size depends on how much you make at one time and how many you cook for. I make enough to feed me for a few days with some left over to freeze. I finished off my meatloaf and dressing in the AF. they both turned out wonderful that way. I've also made steak in my AF, chicken, half the recipe for the green bean casserole and meatloaf in it.

I love both the AF and the IP.

I have both AF and instant pot. I love the instant pot for baked potatoes. They do NOT come out crispy... of course not, they are steamed but ohhh so nicely cooked. I then slice them usually and pan fry them, perfect for home fries without burning them due to the uncooked potato takes sooo long to pan fry.... I like the instant pot for stews/soups/chili. I like it because you CAN'T open it and stir and babysit it. You set it, set the timer and go do something else. I like the air fryer for frozen snack foods. I haven't tried much "real" food in it yet. Only had it a couple of months. I did try a steak in it. It was tasty but I like pan fried better. Now, My DH loves the fish filets in it. Says it is so much better than the oven. Faster too.

I like them both for resparking my interest in cooking. Making me try new things. I have always cooked and like cooking, it is coming up with WHAT to cook that has become the chore. This has helped.

I have made it probably twice a month since I bought my 3 qt last summer. I only use two ingredients: milk and yogurt. No sweeteners or creamers. I use fruit to sweeten my yogurt. I have done both cold start and Homogenized milk. Cold start is my go-to because well............ it's easier. The outcome is the same.

If you're looking for recipes, I found this page it has a ton of IP recipes, some I would have never thought of. I also added it to Our Recipe list page Our recipe list

I love my IP for many things, but not for yogurt. For 20 years I've made yogurt the way it's been done for a long long time, and it couldn't be easier or more delicious, just milk and two tbs of yogurt from the last batch.

IMO, one shouldn't buy an IP just for making yogurt. As I said, I love my IP!

I don't have an IP, but making yogurt is next on my list of things to try. I made a soft cheese from yogurt once that was pretty good. Put plain yogurt in a cheesecloth bag and tie to kitchen sink faucet. Leave overnight to allow the liquid to drain out. It could also be suspended over a bowl. Season with herbs/spices of choice. Makes a nice spreadable cheese that's good for bread or crackers.

I use the Fairlife milk for mine ... and about half of a small container of cultured yogurt. I let it go a good 12 hours in the IP. add your own sweetenings

Not in a while, but when DH was on a yogurt kick, I made it about once a week. The Instant Pot makes it so easy!

It also makes the most perfect brown rice.

I buy a fair amount of Greek yogurt. Is this home made yogurt comparable?
