I need to paint a stainless steel double insulated chimney pipe

I need to paint a stainless steel double insulated pipe along with all of the other stuff that has

to go up on the roof. Researching how to go about this is giving me a headache.

The manufacturer does NOT recommend painting the pipe and and related flashing material.

In a perfect world I would be happy to put it up on the roof as its. (I have in the past for the same application) However, everything in this HOA community has to be brown. Yes brown!. Antennas, satellite dishes yard furniture etc.

I read you need to abrade the stainless, others say you need to chemically abrade it etc. Does anyone have personal experience and can recommend a process and product hopefully not too involved as I have a number of things that have to go up on the roof. To complicate matters, the paint needs to be high temperature.

primarily on the chimney stack.

Thanks.
