What waterproofing is under that? And why is it already grouted? This is a do over. Start from scratch with a proper build for the parts you can't see.

@live_wire_oak The base structure is good. I have a solid pre-slope with an Oatey Shower pan liner on top, which held water for well over 24 hours. A mud bed on top of that, to which have the tiles are attached. The walls are hardibacker and Red Gaurd. I grouted already because I figured I'd fit the missing mosaic pieces in after.

Its easier to do square cuts for the tile.

@Nancy in Mich Your bathroom tile looks great. Was the tile grouted right up to the drain? I've been told to only use caulking on the edge of the tile that touches the drain and any other areas that are prone to cracking. On another shower, I used sanded caulk that matched my grout around the base of the tub and in the tiled shower corners and it looks exactly the same as the grout but it has more give to it so no cracking.

Thanks, Aimee. That is what I am going to have to do. The grout is cracking on the drain cover. Not so much on the flooring. I was mistaken. My guy is absolutely meticulous in what he does in plumbing, electrical, wall building, drywall, painting, carpentry...but grout not going in the change of plane is his one downfall. So he did not have DeLorean Gray caulking here when he did this.
