Dark and dated bungalow now light and airy family home

last modified: 5 years ago

Our clients love mid-century and Scandinavian design so opted for a galley-style Ikea kitchen with peninsula and an eating area with a faux-marble table that opens to seat 10 under a statement mid-century light fixture. By removing the dining room and having one eating area at back of house, the living room was enlarged. We also installed a new gas fireplace with floor to ceiling 24x48 marble-look tiles so now the family can hang out by the fire and watch television or listen to their impressive record collection. By relocating the basement door to the bottom of the stairs, we could remove all upper walls and give them the open plan they wanted. Beautiful finish selection!

The updated space feels fresh and timeless. The cabinetry offers subtle but effective warmth within a cool palette.

    Great work!
