How to dress up vinyl windows?

I'm currently remodeling a house that came with new vinyl windows. I'm wanting to paint the window trim a gray color, and the walls a creamy white color but am worried about how the white vinyl windows will look in the mix. We're planning on hanging grasscloth shades too, but the white vinyl will still be visible. Does anyone have recommendations on with how to deal with this? Would painting the trim, without being able to paint the windows, be outright foolish? Help!

Painting the trim without painting the windows will look fine. Contrasting trim color from the window color is done all the time. I would maybe make sure the white wall color you select coordinates with the vinyl window color. I know there are hundreds of "whites" to choose from so maybe that will help in your decision.

This house has white windows with gray trim. It looks fine.

These windows are white with gray trim. Again, they look good.

Yeah, my problem with vinyl windows is that they are cheap, not that they are white. Don't worry about it.

It's true--we wouldn't have chosen vinyl, but the sellers replaced the windows shortly before we bought the house.

Whatever you do, be sure it doesn't negate any warranty that came with the new windows.
