BM Decorator White walls with BM Super White trim and ceiling

Could you please tell me if you think it’ll look ok to do all walls in decorator white and do trims, doors, kitchen cabinets and ceilings in super white?
My house is a 1920’s Spanish revival living room has dark brown beams and I want a very white look because I have a lot of art to hang on walls. Floors are white oak with dark walnut stain.
I also considered doing simply white on walls but it looks a little too yellow.

If you are showcasing the art, consider painting the trim and walls the same white..trim in semi-gloss and walls in eggshell.

Here is a room with B.M. White Dove on all paintable surfaces.

Have you done walls in Decorator White?

Lori what difference in chroma would work?? Could you advise on which whites would work that look very white? Or if only using one white which one would you recommend.
    Thanks.

if only using one white which one would you recommend.

Either SW Extra White or PPG's Delicate White.

The rule of thumb for combining two colors of white is there needs to be a difference of 0.20 (ish) in Munsell Chroma.

Is SW extra white the equivalent to BM Super white?

Do you guys think that if I paint the walls and trims in super white it will look too white - not pretty white? (hospital white) this is the living room. Floors are being stained in dark walnut.

that picture Judy G posted looks like what you want. you will have enough dark wood in the room so it won't look sterile. why don't you get a sample of White Dove and simply white? see how they look and just pick one.

In my opinion Decorators White is a cooler white. I'd pick more of a neutral or warmer white for your room

what type of furnishings/rug/art are you using?

I have samples of both dove white and simply white. Dove white looks to beige in the house. Simply white looks ok but a little yellow on certain walls. We already requested the kitchen cabinets, trim and ceilings to be painted super white. I am concerned that simply white will look yellow next to the super white trim and ceiling. This is soo hard!!

Would you do simply white walls with super white ceilings and trim? Won’t the contrast make the walls look yellow?

probably. then why don't you just do everything in super white? Super white is ''super white", so any other white is going to look a bit dingier when put right next to it. You could do more of a warmer white that offers some contrast.

This room looks to be its own room (apart from the kitchen) so why can't you do the trim/ceiling/walls in warmer white in this room?

They're not close enough to call it equivalent. But they're close. And they're both really pretty colors of white. Can't go wrong with either one.

I would in a heartbeat. It's a very pretty combination. There's enough difference in Chroma that one won't make the other look dirty/dingy.

But, yes, Simply White is more colorful, has more Chroma than Super White and it is yellower.

The contrast of hue between the two could result in Simply White looking like a very pale creamy off-white.

Considering the floor, I'd go with a little more color on the walls. Shoji White, Greek Villa kind of pale, subtle greige-y vibe.

After a lot of thinking we decided to only use BM super white and let the difference in sheens between walls and ceilings provide a little contrast. Our art is very colorful and I think it will look good on white walks. Thanks!!

What did sheens did you end up doing? I also have 1920s Tudor, rooms are small and the white color currently BM snowfall white too warm, walls look dingy so going with BM Super White. Did you go with matte walls and satin trim or what sheen worked?

Sorry for the late response. Yes we used matte for walls and ceiling and low sheen for doors and trim. We are very happy with our decision to do it all in BM Super White.
