Comments (51)Bugger is right! :) Okay..Go back to the two seater across from the 3 seater, but center the two seater with the 3 seater. Then, put an end table/lamp on "this side" of the two seater and the floor lamp the "other side" of the sofa. Get the cowhide rug for the center of the narrow space and cover the medallion. No coffee table. Float the chair and "center" between the sofas. If you can, paint the walls the ice blue accents. I'm thinking pillows are not even necessary (except use that birdcage pillow on the chair). I think it would be fun to do "birds on a wire" on the wall. : ) PS. The area rug would look best in a cowhide shape since EVERYTHING is a rectangle here....See MoreThis living room is making me nuts!!
Comments (99)You really cannot remove the toys ( which are really minimal) unless you have a completely separate family room. I don't quite understand the security gates. Your toddler is going to make short work of them soon! I think there are other child proofing strategies. The big case pieces can be bolted to the wall and I would just remove the decorative items on the tops for the time being. Those with doors should have fasteners. I also worry about the wires I see around the gates. They should be secured behind the furniture. Safety first, absolutely! Give the gates to someone with dogs. I think your room is great looking - has lots of impact. I personally like the area rug. The geometric is great. But, if it is bothering you, swap it for a geometric in a different color. You need something exciting for that large wall area. Although, there is something to be said for negative space! Perhaps an artist could do an original piece for you. You have great instincts! You should trust them. You have a stunning home....See MoreWhat can I do for my master bedroom?!
Comments (1)I would choose artwork or photography first and then pull colors from it for you bedding. You do not say what area of the country you are from or interests. Etsy.com is a great site to get items for your home and you can actually contact each shop owner. My photography shop has a lot listed and I can customize the size and material. Photography looks great printed on canvas. I also have more files stored on my computer if you need to view more. I have chosen just of few of the items from my shop to post. Or, you may want to hang 3 to 4 similar photography selections in the same color of frames. Remember when selecting colors that the lighter colors you choose the larger your room will feel....See Moreliving room layout and accessories
Comments (23)Looks like the sofa location is fine in front of the FP. To cozy up, add an area rug. FP could use some attention. First, the mantel looks to be functioning as a shelf for lining things up in a row - more like storage than like decor. Second, the mirror is wider than the firebox opening and so creates imbalance. Third, the mirror is not reflecting anything beautiful or interesting that we'd want to see twice. To minimize that issue, consider art above the mantel. If you must keep the mirror I'd paint the frame in a lighter color and hang it vertically so it doesn't overwhelm the lower opening. Simply flank it with the two blue jars....See MoreSara Tajer
