I like the linear as well, but you should post the dimensions of the table as well as the fixture. You want to be sure that they're in proportion, especially since the iron chandelier will take up more visual space than the fixture you currently have.

my table is 70 in x38in

and the light is 49x15. (6light option)

there is also a slightly smaller option that has 5 lights— it’s 40x12. It’s basically he same price for both. Which size do you think would be better?

can anyone help determine which size to order? They are onsale for wayfair's wayday today for 195 and 230--so i would like to order one today!

based off what im seeing online- it should be 1/3-1/2 in proportion to width and and 1/2-2/3 in length. these both fit in these guidelines, so im not sure which to order. i'd rather not order both since return shipping would be a hassle.

I think you really cannot make a mistake. If it's any encouragement. I think honestly they both work, but looking at your room, it looks like it could handle the larger? But don't feel bad if you picked the smaller, that's good too!!!!

If it's centered over your table, how much table is left on either side of the chandelier?

K9arlene, there is 10.5 inches left length wise on either side with the bigger one, and 15in each on the smaller one.

Width wise I think both are totally fine.

I’d personally go with the longer one as it won’t overpower your table and will have more of a presence. I think it comes down to the look you prefer. You could even use painters tape on your table to mark off where each fixture lands and decide from there. Both will work.

Hang the new fixture lower than the current fixture.

I really like the linear fixture. I think it will look beautiful with your table. I must also say your abstract painting is stunning. Could you please tell me where you found it?
