You can find out by checking the specs. Look for the type of bulb that fits into it. Then, google the bulb and see how they're offered. How much wattage and how many Kelvins. 2700k to 3000k is warm, above that it gets cooler. Choose a low wattage if you don't need a strong light.

It seems to me that that shade will soften the light quite a bit. I don't think you'll have any glare.

If you don't like the bulb that comes with it, switch it out for one that you do. As long as the socket is a standard type (many LED lights can fit in normal incandescent fixtures), then you're set.

Karen - I am wondering if you did decide to use the light sconce you are asking about here - Bath and Spa 1-Light Vanity, 570-1C-WHT, Medium. I am considering this light for our bathroom renovation - one on each side of our vanity mirror. But I'm concerned it might not give off adequate light there - perhaps the heavy shade blocks the light more than would be appropriate for this situation. If you've been using this light yourself, perhaps you can tell me your thoughts about it.
