THE SHOWER IS NOT WATERPROOFED!!! The cement board should have seams where it abuts and at the corner joins. Please review this issue on dozens of other posts. Function over design. It's still early enough to save this situation.

Actually, you may need more than seams. Cement board is not waterproof. You may need to take down the tiled wall, put up more cement board and then cover with waterproofing membrane. The fact that this was not done properly the first time calls competency into question. So sorry.
