Thank you for your feedback! Any suggestions on wood stain color?

With the lighter countertops, I would not change the cabinet stain. Or are you considering staining the floors?

That is a nice kitchen. My one complaint would be that they didn't do any drawer stacks.

I would keep the cabinets as they are.

Replace counters with a light cream quartz or a natural stone like Taj Mahal quartzite. Please don't do any grey with your warm colors. Then a light backsplash to go with the counters.

As far as the wood floors, I would keep them light, but add a touch of brown.

I think I'd darken the floor quite a bit ,leave the perimeter counter but pull the counter off the island .....pull the bookcases from the ends, add drawers and get the whole island painted w new elements in place then pick new top for island. The bookcases can be repurposed elsewhere. Can the 4 in backsplash come off? Then coordinate new backsplash w new island made part from existing island components .

hinahaus, if you are getting new countertops, then don't do a backsplash now. just wait. you don't want to spend money on tile now that may limit you w/your counter selection. For now, just paint the wall.

Also, when you get your new countertops, do NOT get the 4" backsplash piece up the back. it's either that or tile, not both. m'kay?

for your flooring, I'd keep it on the lighter side but tone down the yellow. Something like this would look nice. try a walnut shade.

this one is a combo of special walnut/Dark walnut. I believe the right side is two coats. and this wood is red oak.

I wouldn’t put in a backsplash until I know what countertops I’m putting in as others have said. I also wouldn’t darken your floor. It appears to me that it is maple. Keep the natural finish, use a lower sheen. This will decrease the effect. Same with the cabinets, same finish, lower sheen. There’s a lot of stuff going on with your wood grains. You also don’t really need new counters. I’d remove the 4” backsplash and install a tile backsplash.
