Remember that sweet little PieNapple?

Well, he's no longer little or sweet. He's grown in to the biggest cat I've ever had. And he's STILL growing! His paws are about an inch and a half wide and he stands a good foot tall. He is very heavy, too, not just puffy-which he is quite that.

He's a brat. He is the size of our little lhasa-mix dog Tux and is his his BFF. They trot alongside one another and Nap loves to play with him wrestling around. He does terrorize the other cats-he likes to jump on them and wrestle and they aren't too fond on his ambushes.

He also likes to ambush people, i can't tell you how many times he's attacked my feet or grabbed DH as he walks past the cat tree. Apparently he has a brother who lives with some neighbors and the brother is just as big and as big a brat. I can't imagine how big he'll be by the time he's fully matured. I'm so glad we got him fixed when we did, he'd be a holy terror otherwise!

He's gorgeous, but does appear to have that wild eyed look about him!

He’s beautiful. The brattiness gets better in 2-5 years. :)

Oh my - he’s handsome and he looks like he’s just waiting for some craziness!

In that photo, he's definitely planning something. Better watch out!

He’s very handsome! Is he a Maine Coon? I know they get very big.

Isn't being a brat part of the cat job description? ! He does seem to know his power!

I suspect there is Maine Coon in his bloodline. He and his brother were neighborhood strays found as recently weaned babies. There have been several cats over the years that have his fluffiness-not quite his size-and I suspect they're generations of a local cat. Fortunately we've been able to find homes for the kittens we've come across, I'd like to find the Queen and see to it that she's spayed, but I'm just not sure where she's from. There have been plenty of Toms around and we've managed to get those we've caught neutered

Sounds just like my Thomas's story. Big, bossy, stray Tom cat of the neighborhood. He appeared suddenly so I'm thinking he was dumped or someone new moved in. Then there began to be sightings of other cats with his same coloring, nearly same pattern, and size all around my rural area - and I swear I saw one in town! I kept thinking it was Thomas but I couldn't see how he could be everywhere at the same time. I know of at least two that were killed on the road.

I eventually became his advocate, feeding and providing housing, and taking him to the vet to mend his war wounds, then deciding if his owner wasn't going to neuter him I would - and did. It has calmed him down but he is still a fighter when it comes to protecting his territory.

Yeah....and he knows it! I forgot to say that from nose to base of tail, Duke measures about 20 inches. Here he is laying by my head.....

Oh my word! They are all stunning. I've always wanted a big cat, but don't want the hair that seems to always come along with it. Are all MC this way? I've always heard Ragdolls are sweet cats.

I volunteer at a shelter, and the Maine Coons that come in mostly seem to be more "energetic." He is a beautiful cat, and hopefully his friendship with your dog will give him a way to work off his energy. He definitely looks like he's got trouble in mind!

What beautiful, big babies pictured in this thread! And yes, PieNapple looks like quite the devious little man. Gotta love the ones that are most spirited, even if they do threaten our sanity from time to time!

had a Maine Coone Cat for 14 years, he sure looks and sounds as if he acts like one!

He seems like he is full of mischief! Our big black kitty looks more like what is called Norweigian Forest Cat vs. Maine Coon, but he was a holy terror as a kitten. He is still fairly mischievous at 15, but it took a few years for him to calm down. He is super affectionate, though. He's the one that used to pretend-nurse on my clothes when he was a kitten.

He was as heavy as about 16-17 lbs., but in his old age he's about 13, which is a much better weight for him. Although he sprained his paw trying to get on the barstool in the kitchen, and he missed, so it has been a long recovery. Yes, try to prevent a cat from jumping. When he feels better, he overdoes it. Poor thing.
