Of course you should match.

You would be hard pressed to see the difference in those 2 colors unless they were right next to one another, and even then...

The color of the counter and backsplash will have more effect on the perceived light color than the actual lights themselves.

Thanks for your insights. Matching seems the most obvious answer, but the electrician said that the 2700k might "go yellow" on the white subway tile backsplash and torquay counters, which I would like to avoid. I would like to compare/try out 2700k vs 3000k, but they are putting in the lights before the counters and splash are installed, and I can't seem to find a lot online on this particular idea of "yellowing" on white splash and counters.

There also has been discussion regarding installing the tape facing down vs facing back (inside the light rail) toward the splash. I have seen advice to install facing toward the splash if you have a highly reflective surface to avoid dots on the counter...not sure whether that applies to the light-colored cambria or more to darker, shinier surfaces?

2700 IS yellow. Of course it’s going to make things look yellow. If you want whites to look very white, you need to get up to at least around 4000.
