how to treat my soil for strawberry

I am growing strawberry in clay soil with ph around 7. Following some advice, I prepare my soil by mixing clay soil with commercial top soil and peat moss. It seems when the soil is dry, it is still compact to some extent. I pressed on transplanting the strawberry by mixing in black kow manure compost. Now I plan to revise soil ph value to lower but I have a concern. I heard that acidic soil tends to get compact, which might worsen the situation I am having. So, is it really the case an acidic clay soil will get more serious compaction issue? What can I do to improve the soil to fit the strawberry need, by mixing in tiny sand?
