Any ideas on how to decorate this console table under our TV?

I have mirror nightstands and mercury lamps. I am trying to Incorporate gold pieces into this room to give it a sorta transitional luxury renaissance glam feel. I feel the space around the TV is blah and the console table have to stay. The chair isnt staying, it's just there until I finish getting this room together before my surgery on the 16th.

Here are two ideas. Might need shorter orchid but this is concept.

I love the orchard and gold white gold tray idea flo .

Do you think the shelving may be too much for this masterbedroom room? I am planning on putting this writting desk that will act as a vanity in the bedroom with a mirror on that existing wall. I think those shelving would be just too much heavy furniture in the room. I am also adding in two accent chairs in the room. the masterbedroom is 358ft. attach is the writting desk and bed. I still have to hang curtains up on both of the windows which will be done this week by Monday hopefully. I totally agree the TV needs something to balance. Tall shelving was the last on my list lol. I think I'll feel overwhelm and cluttered lol.

I love the idea of bringing in black accents. I am getting a 144inch thick Matt black curtain rod Monday and two 33 to 60 inches thick matte black curtains rods also. Adding additional black accents sounds pretty good to contrast and bring balance to all the creams, mecury, gold, and mirror pieces.

    let me save that

If you add that writing desk you won’t need shelving. Plus a pretty velvet chair and done. Don’t overload your room. It will be prettier. I think I would do white desk not navy blue though. Probably with chrome. You can add small touches of gold and perhaps one pillow for your bed with touches of gold. But be careful to not overdo it.

Oh. Ok. I am not a big fan of office space in bedrooms. Any other place you could put it?

Well it's not a office space. it will act as my vanity. All my makeup and hair stuff will into the drawers. A mirror will be over it. However, the desk will only have a plant there. It can act as a desk for the hubby and his laptop for times he dont feel like going to the other side of the house for a couple hours in the morning. Sometimes he likes to log onto the VPN at his job and then get back into bed lol. Also I can curl my hair here, do my makeup, and just prep myself for my nightly routine here at this desk. It's basically a multi purpose desk. You know how you book a suite at a hotel and it have a desk their with a mirror over it? That's the set up I'm having in this room sorta hotelish with accent chairs.

I forgot to mention that it will only be a lamp, and a plant on top of the desk. My hair accessories and makeup will be in the drawers.

Ok. I understand better with your explanation.

Curtains are up for two of the windows. We still have to do the big window and change out the rod and raise it higher. I feel like something may be missing still behind the lamps.

I think more reflective elements are always a good idea. Put mirrors above each night stand. Beautiful look. Use silver or gold or combo. Great mirrors out there with mirrored frame and gold beading detail.

room could do with some colour

Agree and some wood or large art on TV wall will help finish the room.

What about contrasting it with black, gold and sliver accents?

also what about instead of mirrors behind the lanes wall art in frames?

In going to get a orchard to put in here to add some colors. I just want it to be a summer neutral. When fall and Christmas time come around, I will be redoing the room for the season. I change decor throughout the season and the look.

I am already planning my fall and Christmas decor. I'll start putting up fall stuff the end of August.

I'm thinking possibly changing the lane shades to black and adding more black accents around the room. Just to give it a little contrast.

I'm eventually putting two wingback upholstery chairs in here also with a nesting table

In your other thread, I made some suggestions, and now I see you want to use desk as your vanity. I have a faux bamboo vanity with stool in our MBR (was in MB, last house). It has a mirror on a stand. You could still use my suggestions on the other thread and use a mirror like this. And it adds another glam touch to the room.

To address how to decorate the console table, you definitely need a taller thing or two to connect the table visually with the TV. I would have hung the TV about a foot lower. Add a stack of books (or books between pretty bookends), things with texture (wicker, fabric covered), a glass bowl of soft color seashells, urchins, etc to soften the area and add interest and character. Whatever you decide on, there needs to be high, medium and low items that connect with each other - either by proximity and/or color/texture/story. It needs to tell a story, not be random items placed on a table.

I should mention this room is rectangular in shape and not square.

    Yes, obviously.

I may get another mirror table top but I still need the big mirror for my hair and things. a lil mirror will not do just for my makeup etc. I always said the writting desk was going to be use as vanity and act as a area you can use for your laptop. I agree with the console table. I am thinking about doing like a rectangular gold dish and a orchid plant. I wanted him to place the TV at that height just in case I was going to add some type of tall vase or pillars candles.

I may move that console table to this wall with 4 pieces of wall art and decorative accents. I may just leave the wall with the TV bare. I know once I add these accent chairs and nesting table that will be it for me. Soon the room will start feeling clutter and small.

You need some art on TV wall. You can choose color and style.

FLo I saw you posted that first wall art with the gold trim and I save it. I was like I can do two of those on the wall and it would really add drama to the room.

Yes, art is very personal so pick what you love. I would put your desk/makeup table in space centered on wall next to TV. By centered, I mean centered on the space to left of TV. Otherwise, room is overly heavy on bed side. I would not put anything that sticks out beside entry door and bathroom door. You will bump into it constantly.

I'll move it around to show you guys what it looks like today. I just try to place the console table by that wall and it was too wide anyway so that wont work lol. I was planning on painting the legs of that vanity chair black but I may look for another kind of chair.

I'll post picks later today with the vanity on both sides of the TV and in the center of the windows.

update: still have about six more pieces to add to this room

on the wall with the TV I'm going to fo one sccent chair instead of two . Thinking about doing the chair in a black velvet or cobalt blue.
