How to pick a good used computer monitor

I recently bought a used 2014 Mac Mini (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1086735-REG/apple_mgem2ll_a_mac_mini_1_4_ghz.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMImvSts8n44gIVAySGCh3XPgqyEAAYAiAAEgLOTvD_BwE&origSearch=Mac+Mini+Late+2014+Specs).

I bought from the Boston Craigslist.

I now need to buy a monitor for it. There are many used ones for sale on CL. And many of them are really cheap.

I'm just trying to learn more in terms of what I need in a monitor.

If it's resolution, what do I need to know about the monitor's resolution to determine that it's a good buy?

Are there other features that I need to check other than resolution?

Some of us know almost nothing when it comes to such matters so please bear with me.
