Opinion on Living Room Tables

I posted previously about how to decorate a wall in my living room and have discovered that I need to update my tables and TV cabinet. We are building a TV Cabinet and I need help on what color to make it. We will also be changing the end tables and adding a coffee table. Open concept with white and grey kitchen. We are leaning towards a white or off white TV cabinet. Thoughts on color for Cabinet and tables? I included a picture of the TV cabinet we are building and possibly the coffee table.

Hello! Beautiful space. I think you should bring in some wood tones to the room. If you already have a wood tone in the room next to it maybe think about mimicking it here with the coffee table. The design of the one you are showing is great! If you don't already have a wood tone in mind, I would shoot for a medium colored walnut (no red). This lends a more modern feel to the space, which I think you already have and also will add a little more interest to your room other than the white. I think the white tv cabinet is nice. It will mirror what you have in the kitchen. Blending the white and wood tones will look very beautiful overall. I love your glass end tables, you should keep them! It's always nice to mix different colors and materials; wood + glass.

As a side note, I think your carpeting if changed to a lighter colored carpet (light beige or changed to a greige or light grey or even tile or hardwood) would make a world of difference here. it would really help lighten the space up and you could anchor the room with a beautiful rug with some color, pattern, or texture . I love these photos below for inspiration. Good luck!

Yes I know the TV is too high. It will be adjusted when new cabinet is added.

I was thinking of something like this for a large rug. Thoughts?

Get your TV console first then rug. You might find a painted TV console to work with your accent pillows and sectional.

Hi! Great idea with the large rug over the carpet! I love those options you found, especially the last 4. Make sure the rug is appropriately sized and underneath all pieces of furniture, not a postage stamp rug (biggest design pet peeve of mine:)). Also, I wouldn't go matchy matchy with the end tables and coffee table. Too much looking like you got it at a furniture store in a set. I truly love the mix of glass end tables and wood coffee table, but if you are set on wood I would go with something around the same tone for sure, but just not matching if that makes any sense. You don't want it to look like you've collected these pieces over time. I would go with a darker wood tone like the walnut, not the beachy light wood......unless that's what you have in the room next to it then it makes total sense. Great job mixing a round coffee table with square or rectangular end tables to mix up the shapes and edges. Lookin good!

Andrea thank you again. The rug will be big enough to cover almost all of the carpet if not all of it. I plan to remove the round table in the corner by the window and add a plant or something over there. I also wasn't sure about leaving the round tables with a round coffee table.
