bathroom vanity pendant vs over the mirror lighting dilemma

We're building a house and had our master bathroom vanity lighting all picked out. It's a double sink and we were going to do sconces on either side of the two mirrors (3 of them total). We've been told this is the best kind of lighting to have in the bathroom. Our electrician says we won't be able to fit the mirrors and sconces.. it will be too tight. So I'm back to the drawing board. I can't find any over the mirror lighting that I like. I've seen some pendant lights that hang from the ceiling close to the mirrors that look nice but my husband thinks the lighting will cast shadows. Our vanity is 77 inches wide. It will be rift sawn oak in a natural finish. The first picture is the sconce that I liked and the second is an example of a pendant hanging over the mirror. Husband and I both like a frosted glass so the light isn't glaring. I'd even consider a more modern round orb shape.

It's likely the bowl on the light is too wide, but it depends on the location of the sink and the width of the mirrors. Even a more narrow bowl of 5" is iffy. So get the rest of the info and make a decision.

either do a whole wall framed mirror and mirror mount the sconces or get smaller mirrors. pendants in bathrooms are decorative IMO

But do say you cant find any over the mirror that you like? there are have to be at least 800 choices, for example the one you like probably comes in a mutli head option.

try kichler, hinkely, murray fiess, hudson valley lighting, minka lavery go to their actual websites and look through that way you will not be overwhelmed by say the vast amount on a lighting on line website.

Excuse me but did you learn why they won't fit?

Is it the position of the lavs, or the width of the mirror? I'd want to know before I gave up on something I wanted.

Another option might be to go THROUGH the mirror with the electrical

I agree with the above comments, what is the space between the mirrors. some companies have smaller profile mounting plates as well...

I'm not sure the contractor knew the size of the glass on the light fixture... but he did need to know the size of the mirrors.
